Hi, I am John S. from Bangalore, India. I am an MBA too. Here back in India, the Tiger has many loyal fans, and they worship him like GOD (including myself). But, I am not much connected with Lawn Tennis, so….

But one thing I got to say, Tiger will be back with a roar once his personal life, and the differences with his Wife gets settled. Hoping for the best, may GOD bless the Tiger…….

Hi

I found your blog through Google search and I noticed that you are a MBA student too. My classmates and I recently launched a website (www.mbaNERDs.com) providing free case summary and discussion area for MBA students. In this way, people can better prepare their case study before the class and network with other talents around the world.

Please feel free to take a look and let us know how you feel so that we can improve our services. Thank you so much!

Best Regards,

Allen

I know this post is about a year old, but wanted to share my experience anyway. I fly in to Chicago to attend the weekend program and also was a part of the NVC this year which is held on Mondays. So, I missed work every Monday and had to make it up tuesday through Friday, which meant 10hr plus days at work in addition to the NVC work and the 2 weekend classes...
still, the effort was worth it, I think I got more out of this quarter than anyther so far..

Hahaha.. This master-grasshopper has created more doubts than it has cleared.. :-| At least for me.. Still overall, an interesting post.. :)

I, too, an concerned about the brand-name of US schools in India.. (though I am surprised to see that a Chicago guy is facing probs too.. :-o ) Am joining Goizueta, though I had ISB offer in my hand.. 'coz I strongly feel that in terms of experience, that'll be a better choice..

Hope people like you and me come back, be successful in whatever we do and make sure that 10 years down the line, our juniors don't face the issue of good schools being unknown brands back home..

iPlanet App Server was based on the Netscape AS code base--this was actual a long, drawnout battle between the two engineering and sales teams and as support manager I was only able to kneel and pray.

I think this is not such a bad deal for Oracle or Sun. Clearly enterprise customers were signaling that Sun could not retain business as an independent, so Sun's board had to do something. As they got approximately the per share price asked of IBM so good job by them.

Oracle stock price barely blinked in a serious down day for tech stocks so I think the Street is giving the deal thumbs up. Ellison has made many smart acquisitions, especially in the last five years, so I have to give him the benefit of the doubt until we see otherwise.

For me, the open source model has a number of different places where value/revenue can be captured and with MySQL, Java and Solaris Oracle at least superficially is poised to do so directly (licenses, support, consulting) and indirectly (broader coverage of the dbms market, competitive advantage vs. IBM, HP, Dell and Microsoft, closer control over Java which is used heavily in their software lines).

Hey guys,
Very good insight. Two questions: (1) Is it true that one has to go and schmooze with bankers at every recruiting event in order to get invited to an interview? (2) If I want to try and get into a good i-bank through a part-time MBA program, what are the top five schools you think could help me get there (would you say UCLA, Berkeley, USC)?
Thanks.
